Project: Overprint Graphic Design Magazine

Goal: We were given the topic of graphic design for our magazines, but had creative freedom with everything but the article copy, which was required in full. I deeply love collage and editorial work, so I took inspiration on the cut and glue layout design as my retro avenue. I wanted to be striking, fashionable, and creative, even at the cost of word comprehension.
Colour: The hot orange and pink, along with the charcoal black, make things pop with positive and obscure energy. This magazine invites all colours, as seen on the table of contents, hosted by a white background.
Type: Garamond was used for my body copy as an off beat serif font. Libel Suit was used for my titles and logo for it's modernity and legibility in the busy designs. Nitti Typewriter is the hero in tying together the publication, it gives an old typewriter characteristic and came with a highlight variation which came in handy to make itself stand out in the busy designs.
